Mukojima in the north-east of Tokyo is a quite nonfamous little quarter. But it‘s not really far away from Asakusa, so a walk from there is worth it (see: walks Asakusa&Mukojima). Walking through Mukojima lets you feel like being beamed into another city: tiny little shops, greengrocer‘s shops and fish-booths are lined up under red-white-paper lanterns haging from above. As the whole quarter is a nice time travel so it is the „Koguma“café which used to be a pharmacy. The owners kept some of the beautiful old pharmacy stuff and combined it with a fine sense for details with some old wooden furniture, books and a lot of other lovely things. All cakes, coffees and teas are handmade and extremly tasty! Menu only in Japanese.
